I have a lot of comic books that I absolutely adore. They are always on top of my stack for that week; I can barely contain my excitement. Then there are the books I buy that I don’t swoon over, but I still read. The stories themselves never interest me too much, but for some reason, I am so invested in the characters, I never miss an issue. Books like Adjectiveless X-men, Astonishing, and recently Avengers VS X-men come to mind.
Then there is a third, strange category of books I buy. These are the books that are at the bottom of my stack. They come so low on my priority list that I sometimes even forget them entirely and it isn’t until I have a back log of 5 or so issues that I bother reading them. And then once I do get around to reading them, they are SO GOOD and genuinely enjoyable that I am completely baffled as to why I didn’t read them in the first place.
This current volume of Daredevil is the prime example of that last category.

I just read the last 4 issues and I am still excited by what is going on. The Foggy/Murdock college days backstory issue was wonderful. The continual twists and turns never get annoying. Who is the new Black Spectre? What is Matt hiding? When will he finally bone the D.A.? The book continually asks new questions, while taking DD to new places.
While, the Omega Drive crossover felt a bit unnecessary, I am in love with this book and I don’t want it to stop.
